I believe in my intuition

                                                                      

The predominating theme in my paintings is my interest in people; relations between two people, meetings or momentary drama. It´s often the momentum that seems to contain the whole life. I want to portray it from inside, from the actions of seeing and feeling.
Tenderness is also strength, but only the truly strong can be tender. 
Honesty and sensitiveness are the most important elements in my work.

The eidetic cats         

One day when I was viewing something without any ideas, when I at once turned my eyes into my paintings, I encountered suchvisual figures as emerging like ephemeral unrecognisable phenomena: there were an undefined number of cats inmy paintings! Apart from the others there was sitting a little bit shy and thin creature. Now he is known by the name of Kuitunen. This is a prelude to myclose association with the cats.

In my opinion the humanized eidetic cats are very rich in nuances: they can surprise us with their odd gestures and looks. 
Mysterious of the cats make us curious and they are easy to approach, too. With my cat figures, I don´t, however, try to teach or offer advice, but fill the everyday with humour – often to the extent of tragicomic symbolisms.
